Oggetto: [ipenlistserve] Greenpeace East Asia examines clothes of majorbrands with
nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs)
Inviato: 29 ago 2011 11:02

Dear all,   Greenpeace East Asia office in Beijing and Hong Kong has recently released a
report examining the concentration of NPEs in a number of brands clothes.
"Research commissioned by Greenpeace International has revealed that clothing and certain
fabric-based shoes sold internationally by major clothing brands are manufactured using
nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs). NPEs -- which are used as surfactants in textile
production -- subsequently break down to form toxic nonylphenol (NP). The investigation
involved the analysis of 78 articles of sports and recreational clothing and shoes
bearing the logos of 15 leading clothing brands. " For more informatoin, Please check out
